He conducted several research projects, published articles and book chapters in different international and national journals. He also presented papers in many national and international conferences.

He lectures courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate honours modules relating to archives and records management, information and knowledge management, library and information services. Also serves as external examiner for over ten national and international universities.

He completed undergraduate degree and honours in information studies from University of the North and master's and PhD in information science from University of South Africa. Also completed several certificates in archives and records management, assessor and moderator, etc.
